Isle of Skye: Cuillin Hills Hotel Review
I’m still dreaming about my stay at the 4 star Cuillin Hills Hotel. I usually go for modest accommodations that are safe and in a walkable location, but for some reason decided to splurge a little on this trip and it was 100% worth it. The location was perfect (we were dropped off by our tour) and we never had to worry about leaving for meals. If you’re looking for a comfortable and very nice place to sleep with some incredible food right outside your door, this is the place for you.

The Cuillin Hills Hotel sits on a hill overlooking Portree harbor’s iconic colorful houses. I originally looked to stay in the town of Portree, but since we were spending the majority of the day touring Isle of Skye and the evening at the hotel, I wanted it to be more than just a place to sleep.

I cannot say enough great things about the staff - everyone from the front desk, to the restaurant servers to the bartenders were friendly and helpful, and made Cuillin Hills feel like home for a few days.

We also enjoyed dinner here (I forgot to take photos, was too busy enjoying the meal!) The food was incredible, and I found out after we left that the chef has a Michelin star. A huge plus of this hotel is that you don’t have to worry about getting to dinner or breakfast - you can make a reservation at the hotel’s restaurant.

I’d absolutely stay here again when I visit Isle of Skye. I was sad to leave and felt so welcome.
If you’re wondering if this 4 star accommodation is worth the price, the answer is yes, especially if you have time to enjoy the property in the evening and for breakfast and dinner.
