My favorite flowers around Virginia

Besides Summer, Spring is my favorite time of year. I love the longer days, shedding my coat/hat/gloves/fleece leggings and getting outside more. Blooms are the best part of spring, so here are the best Virginia spots to get your flower fix.

Burnside Farms in Nokesville

Tickets include some “pick your own” tulips to bring home, and they have cute baskets you can borrow

Field of Flowers in Purcellville

This farm is open May through late summer with dozens of flowers to see. This year they had peonies for a very short window. Check their website for real time updates on what is blooming.

Field of Flowers is a laid back “pick your own” flower farm to visit. There’s also a cute red barn that is the perfect backdrop for your photos.

Seven Oaks is a family run farm in Catlett, Virginia. The season is typically June - early July. You can pick your own bundle with ticket purchase, and there are usually baked goods for sale too. The property has plenty of space so bring a picnic to enjoy.

There are 4 fields of sunflowers, each with different bloom timing and size. The website has photos updates so you can see what the fields are like.

There are no tickets required, but there are also no facilities, snacks or water so bring your own. The fields appear endless and it’s easy to get photos without anyone in the background.
